In Primiani v. Law Firm, Jeffrey P. Downer and Andrew H. Gustafson won summary judgment dismissal of plaintiff’s complaint for legal malpractice and breaches of fiduciary duty. Plaintiff sued his lawyer, Jeff and Drew’s client, alleging the lawyer negligently represented plaintiff in a will contest. Plaintiff claimed the lawyer’s mishandling of the will contest caused plaintiff to lose his inheritance and sought $2,800,000 in damages. He rejected a settlement offer of $160,000. The court agreed with Jeff and Drew that no act or omission of their lawyer-client proximately caused plaintiff any damage.
